DR. DAMIEN BARKER, D.Min

Damien Barker “champion of the oppressed” has dedicated his life to helping his fellow man through ministry. His practical and dynamic style of outreach ministry, has been very effective in helping people apply the timeless truths of Scripture to their everyday lives. He is an outstanding man of GOD community leader and grass roots organizer.   

Born 1 Aug 1979 in Allendale SC, he is the only son of Carolyn Barker and Dr J.L. Flowers. Damien graduated from Barnwell High in 1997 and soon after, shipped out for boot camp in Great Lakes Illinois where he began a Career as an Operations Specialist for the United States Navy.   

Even while serving his country as sailor in the largest Navy in the world. Damien never wavered from his service as a soldier in the Army for the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Damien led several bible studies while stationed onboard the USS Saipan. Senior leadership took notice of his strong Christian roots and the fact that he was a PK “Preachers kid”, it also didn’t hurt that all of his advice started with “the Bible said” he was assigned duties as the lead Petty Officer in charge of the base chapel for Fleet Forces Command Center, where he assisted the Chaplain with organizing various ceremonies and services. While serving in the military Damien began to further his education by attending the University of Maryland majoring in Marketing and completing several military courses becoming certified C4i Engineer. During his service in the US Navy Damien did a tour in Bahrain and ran combat missions for OIF “Iraq” OEF “Afghanistan” fighting in both wars and seeing its effects on humanity Damien realized that he wanted to be on the front lines for GOD and in that moment devoted his life to serving in ministry.   

After being discharged from the military Damien entered into the world of Government contracting and being perusing his new career as a Senior Engineer for Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) he also began his new role in ministry serving and VP of Operations for FMI Flowers Ministries Inc. Noticing the much- needed void for outreach in the local communities; He rushed towards the opportunity to help bridge the gap between the church and the community, by introducing programs for transitional housing, food, and clothing. Partnered with other pastors and leaders for mentoring and Christian leadership training. Thus far Damien has implemented programs to assist communities in Las Vegas, Charleston, Miami, Atlanta, Savannah, Chicago, and VA Beach. Damien is a driven leader in the Army of GOD and a powerful voice in the community and will continue to bring lost souls to Christ, blaze trails, and fight for issues that affect our quality of life and making our communities stronger.
