LISA ALLEN, B.C.C.

HER UPBRINGING  

Lisa MoNique Allen was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina on September 24, 1965. She relocated to Beaufort South Carolina at the age of three, where she was reared by her grandmother and grandfather whom she affectionately called "Mom" and "Poppa". Lisa is the fourth of eight children born to Dorothy N. Hamilton. She was raised in a very traditional home where faith in God and getting an education were the most important family values. While attending Beaufort County public schools, she developed a passion for helping others.     

HER CERTIFICATIONS  

Upon graduating from Battery Creek Highschool, Class of 1983, she had already earned her certificate in early childhood education and Certified Nursing Assistance, CNA. Since earning these certifications, Lisa has worked in the health field for 30+ years. Her charitable work include, feeding and clothing the homeless, serving and assisting the those of all ages. She is also a certified Notary Public, N.P.   She received her Bachelor's of Christian Counseling, and currently seeking to obtain her Masters in Christian Counseling at FMI Biblical Studies and Seminary.    

HER INSPIRATION  

Having retired, she developed an organization to help women and children who are survivors of abuse and domestic violence. She has five biological children, but her doors have always been open to other children, many of whom call her "Mama Lisa". She also, has seven biological grandchildren and several other grandchildren; although they live in different , she spends time with all of "Nana's Babies" as she lovingly refers to them. She is very diligent in what she does and doesn't like to take no for an answer.    

HER MOTTO  

Lisa is extremely resilient and her motto is "Make the choice to take a chance for a better change. You control the situation. Don't let circumstances control you."
